Sleep well at Cookes…

Our Sleep Specialists

At Cookes, we are the Sleep Specialists and we want to help you purchase the right bed for you. We understand the importance of sleep to help our bodies grow, recover from illness, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Poor quality sleep will result in tiredness and a lack of energy. 40% of the UK's adults and children do not get a regular, good night's sleep. This will have a huge impact on their daily life.

Our Sleep Specialists can offer their expert advice and knowledge to help you purchase the correct bed for your needs and ultimately, provide you with a good night's sleep, every night!

Choosing the right Mattress

A poor-quality mattress could hinder your sleep by as much as an hour, every night – this often happens gradually over time as the condition of the mattress deteriorates. Eventually this will start to have an impact on the quality of your day-to-day life.

Depending on usage, beds generally last for 7 – 8 years. Mattresses can look acceptable but might not be offering the correct support and comfort you need. After 7 years a mattress has been subjected to over 20,000 hours of wear and tear!

Overtime, mattresses do tend to sag and become lumpy, so changing it will ensure you have got the correct mattress to maintain support and eliminate any discomfort or disturbed sleep. A life span of a mattress can differ depending on the construction, usage and quality of components used.

Our Sleep Quiz

If you answer 'Yes' to any of the following questions,

It might be time to speak to one of our Sleep Specialists and get all the expert advice you need.

Are you waking up feeling stiff or aching?

Have you recently slept better in another bed?

Do you disturb your partner turning over in the night?

Does your mattress look saggy or showing visible signs of wear?

Is your mattress seven or eight years old or more?

Did you know the average person will spend around a third of their life asleep?

Getting a good night’s rest is crucial for both our physical and mental health and falling short of sleep can take a serious toll on your energy levels, productivity and even weight.

Yet many of us regularly toss and turn at night, leaving us feeling frustrated and tired the next day.

The amount of sleep you need depends on various factors including your age, health, and sex. However, in general, most healthy adults need between 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night, teenagers a little more but younger children need between 9 - 11 hours.

During our sleep, we enter various stages, starting with light sleep and getting progressively deeper throughout the night. Whilst we are sleeping our bodies make repairs and work to replenish our energy stores.

Your bed is by far one of the most important elements in getting a good night’s rest. Lumpy old mattresses, lacking in comfort and support are likely to increase the chances of you waking in the night and leave you waking up feeling tired and achy.

With one of the largest selection of beds in the UK and an unrivalled depth of knowledge, you can count on finding your perfect night’s sleep at Cookes.
