Summer Vibes

The outside/inside living spaces are something we strive for all year round, the popularity of bifold doors and increased number of plants we all now have in our home a testament to that.
Summer season is the glorious time of year of warm and balmy weather, cool evenings sat
outside entertaining with friends enjoying a more relaxed, chilled vibe. The perfect time to finally throw open those doors and windows and fill our homes with the warm, freshly cut grass scented air.
So to make the most of this delightful time it is important we extend these vibes into our homes, filling them with gorgeous colours, prints and textures to fully embrace the warmth and joy this season brings.

 

A relatively quick and easy way to do this is update your accessories.

A cushion is the immediate quick fix.

Swap out bulky, richly coloured velvet cushions for soft, washed out linen alternatives with
tassels, or frayed edges to bring in a relaxed, fun element.
Look to switch your prints over from heavier checked or brocade fabrics to a printed palm or tropical inspired botanical woven cotton, so evocative of balmy weather and exotic locations.

 

Throws

Lighten your throws to more temperature appropriate woven rather than knitted fabrics in lighter, softer colours to completely lift and brighten your living space or bedroom.
Want more impact? Then add geometric or graphic floral prints in aqua, coral or cobalt blue
cushions or even an accent chair to bring some real fun and vibrancy the room!

 

Rugs

Rugs can be the anchor for a space and can make more of a visual impact than changing the wall colour when looking to update or freshen your decor.
So for some Summer Vibes for your floor, think along the same lines as the cushions, lightening the texture and colour. Replace a thick pile rugs with laid back woven hessian or jute styles maybe with some muted colours like turquoise or terracotta threaded through to really capture the relaxed, beach boho vibe so synonymous with summer. These gorgeous rugs can also be used outside, instantly adding a chic look to your garden table and chairs when entertaining.

Finally use artwork to complete this seasonal scheme update. Washed out, softly coloured
beach scapes or summer scenes on canvas or abstract paintings in bright tones positioned in
