How to Care for your Upholstery

• Manufacturers always recommend having your upholstery professionally cleaned. Always follow the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions and only useproducts recommended by them.

• Certain clothing, especially new items and in particulardenim, can transfer dye onto your furniture. Please beextra careful with lighter coloured fabrics and leather.

• Pile fabrics such as chenille and velvets will flatten andcrease with normal use. This causes the fabric to takeon a lighter or darker appearance, known as shadingand is by no means a manufacturing fault.

• Any scar, natural markings or stretching of the hide arecharacteristics of genuine leather and not deemed afault.

• To maintain the appearance of your leather furniture, regular cleaning and conditioning is advised, following the manufacturers guidelines.

• Plump and turn cushions daily to prolong the appearance of your interiors. Cushions containing natural feathers or man-made fibres need to be plumped up vigorously to retain their shape and comfort. It is normal for seat and back cushions to soften with use.

• When dealing with liquid spills, blot gently with a dry white cloth. Do not rub. For dry spills, adding any liquid to a normally dry substance may cause the stain to spread. Vacuum or gently wipe the area using a clean white cloth.

• Avoid close contact with direct heat and sunlight. Thesewill cause joints to dry out and fabrics and leathers tofade.

• Do not sit on the arms or allow children and pets to mistreat your furniture.

• At all times, caution should be taken whilst recoveringitems that have gone underneath an electric or movingitem of furniture.

• Some gaps between moving parts are to be expected, to allow free movement.
